If you're interested in becoming a member, here are a few things we'd like you to know!
New members are always welcome, so if you are interested in acting, singing or helping backstage, come along and see what a friendly group we are!
We put on two musical shows a year - in April and October. Our 'past, present and future productions' page will show you the wide range of shows we have put on over the years. We perform each show for six nights and occasionally we may have a matinee performance on the Saturday.
Rehearsals for the cast are on Mondays and Wednesdays each week usually from 7.30 - 10.00 pm at the Institute in Braintree, Essex. Some Sunday rehearsals are involved and these are usually from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm unless otherwise stated by the Director.
Regular attendance at rehearsals is important and cast members are expected to inform the Production Team or the Committee as soon as possible if for any reason they have to be absent. Directions to Braintree Institute.
When you become a member, you can take part in two shows per year and attend our social functions. In addition to the membership fee, we charge a production fee of £10 or £15 per person per show.
Costumes are hired by the Society but you may be asked to provide small personal items and you must provide your own footwear.
If you'd like to join the Society as a non-acting member, there are many other tasks to perform towards the production and during show week - working backstage, helping with props, costumes etc. Why not come along and find out more?
Membership fees for 2008-2009 are as follows:
Adult: £20.00
Student: £5.00
Non-acting: £5.00
